Fishing Report June 27, 2008

Springsteel Resort: Fishing continues to be decent. Head for the South Point of Buffalo. They’re catching them in 13 to 14 foot depths. Nice size fish…with a mix of eaters, throwbacks and trophys!

Long Point: Fishing has been good lately near the bay on the west side of long point in 6 to 8 feet of water using leeches and night crawlers. Same at Sandy Shores, head for shallows of 8 foot depths with leeches and crawlers and get ready for fast action. They say they are catching their limits in 10 to 15 minutes! There are lots of fish…and many big one’s in the slot.

Zippel Bay: Between the Zippel Bay Jetty and Sandy Shores, the whole shoreline has been producing limits including: nice fish, small fish, big fish, slot fish. Anglers are using mostly spinner and crawler. Fish in 6 to 12 feet, 9 foot has been really good. Another place to try is between the twin rocks and twin islands, again in shallower waters.

Zippel Bay Resort Access: Many walleye are being caught along the shoreline using minnows or crawlers and drifting or trolling in 5 to 15 feet of water. Plenty of nice fish, you’ll have to sort through some smaller ones…and trophy’s are being caught as well. If you want to fish Northerns, head for the bay and use spinner bait. www.zippelbay.com
